scrapbooking project

Mila:

I really started by chance, I had already heard of scrapbooking, but while scrolling on Pinterest, I saw original ideas that really made me want to try. So, I said to myself "I want to do that too!" Well, I didn't get into it right away. Between the moment an idea crosses my mind and the moment I really get down to it, a long time can pass, and sometimes I need a trigger that pushes me to get to work. 😂

And that's what happened: Not long ago, with one of my friends who lives in London, we sent each other a surprise package and she had put a super cute notebook in it. That "reminded her of the time where we had met in Paris":

So, I told myself that I had to use it in a good way! And scrapbooking seemed like a good idea to me: I was able to make the scrapbook even prettier and use it to express myself in a new way~ What more could you ask for?

And then we were in lock down so I had to find something to do... That's the story, but I think you especially want to see the result.

Let me first tell you that scrapbooking is really free, no need have a messgae to send, and no need to make something beautiful. Personally, I sometimes take everything I have on hand and throw it on a sheet 🤣 But I'll still try to explain a little bit how my ideas came to me!

First page :

At that time, I mostly had scrapbooking suggestions around fixed words on Pinterest . So, as I love the sky too much, I chose the word " cloud " to open this notebook!

As you can see, I wanted to play on the textures and I got a little carried away on the number of things to put on the page, but I'm still happy with the result for a first try😋

Second and Third Pages:

For this double page, I used different materials. From craft paper to washi tape and Chinese ink, I tried to stay consistent in the presentation by making sure to find each material on each of the two pages.

I also tried to add relief with rope and feathers.

The keenest of you will have seen that this double page has another particularity 👀

Indeed, there is not only one angle of observation...

I used the very famous font and phrase from BTS ' MV "Fake Love" (check it out here !!!)

The idea was to create a duality. And this is also marked with the difference in color and orientation of the feathers.

The two pages look similar, but are they really?

Fourth and Fifth pages:

So for this part, I used acrylic paint .

I didn't really know what to do at the time. So I cut out white sheets the size of the notebook. I took a base color (turquoise) as well as other colors in another tone (to make it stand out) and threw everything on one of the two parts trying to balance.

At first, I hadn't planned to do something symmetrical. But seeing the result I thought it could look good and then it was kind of a challenge! In the end, I didn't know which way to stick the sheets in the notebook. So I did a survey 😂 When you hesitate, it's always easier when someone makes the decision for you, right?

I like this double page, it is simple . At first I thought it gave an impression of "not finished"; but by dint of hearing people say that it looked like a Renaissance painting, I said to myself "Yes? Ah yeah." In addition, we can imagine everything we want , it's like looking at the clouds in the sky!

Sixth and Seventh Pages:

On this double page, there is a central piece, composed of several suns, on which different points are subtly accentuated. like the wise monkeys.

Another particularity is that, no matter where it is, the red bookmark is part of the decor. Thanks to the metallic red streak that runs all over, the double page takes on a 3rd dimension !

Eighth and Ninth pages:

The last page is perhaps my favorite. Like I told you, anything sky- themed captivates me. So I had to show you this double page!

After cutting out a black sheet the size of the double page, I used a lot of materials: a lot of stickers, a dried dandelion, card stock, black glitter for the central ring and even cotton for the brighter stars!
