Short film project

Cynthia: Want to know how to make a short film?

Actually it's pretty simple! All you need is a minimum of equipment, some editing software and a good dose of inspiration!

The goal is to have fun while creating something of your own.

Here is my MIRROR project, which is actually the final assignment for my "pocket film" opening option at the faculty.

Equipment used:

- Smartphone (iPhone11)

- Stabilizer: recommended if your smartphone does not have one. Another alternative: film with an application that has a stabilizer.

Editing Software/ Application:

-iMovie

-Filmorago

- Capcut (You will find many filters and effects here.)

Step 1 : Write all the words that come to mind on your theme/subject (brainstorming, minimum 20 words).

Step 2 : Write a Synopsis (summary/brief narrative of your project)

Step 3 : Answer the WWWH

Who? / What? / Where? / How?

Step 4 :  Write the scenario sequence by sequence (try to give a title to your sequences as for a chapter). Write in as much detail as possible with the different desired shots, locations, actions, dialogues etc...

See PDF for the 4 stages of the LE MIROIR project

Before making my short film THE MIRROR, I practiced making mini films of about 40 seconds and then longer ones of maximum 4 minutes in order to familiarize myself with the different framing shots and video editing.

I also watched tutorials, I advise you to start there, it's really very instructive for amateurs.

You can find great tutorial videos on YouTube! I suggest you the CINEASTUCES YouTube channel that I watched myself.

But remember that the most important thing is to have fun and let your imagination run wild! Indeed, I was able to discover a new artistic approach thanks to this option and it turns out that I am quite good at inventing and writing a script. However, what I like the most is being behind the camera!

I share with you two other projects that are really close to my heart. Indeed, I participated in an artistic creation contest on the theme of Hope with my MonoxHOPE project, which are in fact solo albums of two members of BTS, Mono by RM and HOPE World by J-Hope, which I was inspired . Thanks to this project I won the 1st prize which was AirForce1 personalized in the style of Moonchild, title of one of the tracks of Mono by RM.

For the NightStation dance cover project, I am extremely proud of it because the result is really beautiful considering the circumstances of the shooting in the middle of winter, it was extremely cold and my equipment was only my smartphone and a selfie pole.
