Painting Project
Laura: I have been drawing and painting for 10 years. I took lessons and made some exhibitions thanks to the school for 5 years. Since then, I paint just for fun and for my friends. I have 2 techniques to draw. Either the model is in front of me in real life and I paint it instinctively, or I use a picture. If it's the second option, I trace the important features of the image, and I replicate them proportionally on the canvas.
Tip : This chain is great for starting to paint and draw. It's Léo Drawing-creation !
Here are 5 of my productions in chronological order:

Made in 2014, oil painting on canvas.

Oil on canvas, made in 2015. The trunk and the branches were made with a paint palette knife. In order to make the bark more real.

2013, made with gouache.

Oil on canvas, 2015. Drawn and painted in front of the building which is located in a park in the Loiret.
7 hours of work done over 2 days.

The theme was gluttony. Made in oil on canvas in 2016.
One person bought it because they loved the style and the colors.
A few months later, this same person came back to me to ask me for an eye in the same style. For some reason, I couldn't realize it myself. I then suggested my best friend, Vincent B, to do it.
Here is the result :
A hand in the same style is in progress.

Paintings on canvas:
Mila: I took up painting on a whim. I am an amateur and self-taught so I paint as I feel 😄
My first painting on canvas (if we don't count the paintings I did in kindergarten 🤣) dates from October 2020, it's pretty recent. I really liked the small size so I made several to give to my friends!
I mainly use acrylic. It's hard to see my signature: I make it small and I try to make it blend into the background so as not to disturb the painting~
The paintings are not presented in chronological order. Do not hesitate to give your opinion in the comments!
I like watching Bob Ross' tutorials and I recently discovered Valentin Wilbaux's channel which explains in a very simple way how to use colors and different painting techniques. Go take a look!

October 2020, acrylic
This is my first painting on canvas! For the anecdote, I used the same brush for all the painting!
I was inspired by the mansion from the anime "When Marnie was there" (photo in reference)
The hardest part was making the reflection in the water. I also left the paint on stand-by for several weeks before tackling it 😅
But I really like the result! I sent it to my friend who lives in London~

Acrylic
I had a model unearthed on Pinterest for this painting.

Acrylic , Black Posca, Fine liner
I used a pattern found on Pinterest. It's also an order from a friend! She was the one who took the photo.
I also made the little vial next to it, I filled it with sand and a seashell that I brought back from Guadeloupe~
Acrylic
A friend of mine ordered me a canvas in shades of pink and gray, so I tried to draw a character!

Acrylic, Black Posca
This time it was my aunt who ordered me a painting in orange tones! I immediately thought of a sunset 🌞⛱ and looked for several models on Pinterest (yes again and again).
Other paintings:

Acrylic, gouache
I painted this character after watching the Korean drama " Her Private Life " in which an artist paints a woman in the same style.
Acrylic, gouache, free black glitter
For this painting, I wanted to represent a winter scene with a particularity: the attention is drawn to the lake in the center because of the black glitter that I mixed with the paint. This adds a lively side since the lake seems to reflect the subdued light as if it were frosted.

Watercolour-like acrylic, Fine liner
I had a model but the result is totally different. I was able to realize how hard it is to get red paint without having a pinkish tint.
Acrylic
I had a model found on Pinterest. I cut out the moon shape on tape so I wouldn't paint on it, then removed it at the end.
What do you see ? Dawn or dusk? Or would it be a burning forest?

Watercolor,
I still had a model although I changed the face of the character. I tried to use all the space of the page, which I had never done.
